To put it simply, Lululemon makes some of the most universally beloved workout gear that we’ve ever written about. While the brand is known for designing yoga clothes first and foremost (and numerous instructors have waxed lyrical to us about its stretchy, four-way-flexing pants), we also love the brand’s running tees and shorts, as well as especially its supportive and sports-ready bras, which run up to a G-cup. For Black Friday, many of those products that we’ve written about and recommended time and again — from an ’80s-style workout scrunchie to one of our favorite gym bags to a magical T-shirt that will hide your sweat while flattering your bust — are up to 50 percent off for the next 24 hours, which means it’s a great time to stock up on tried-and-true, Strat-approved gym gear that’ll suit any yoga practice, running style, or work-from-home routine. We also spotted a few newer products that are similarly discounted, including a design-y men’s hoodie with anti-bacterial technology, and a Barbie-pink ribbed tank that could definitely transition beyond your workout wardrobe. Lululemon’s longtime best-selling Wunder Unders arguably kickstarted the now-ubiquitous yoga pant craze. And they’re still beloved by fitness experts we’ve spoken with recently, including Kate Posch, a yoga instructor at Sky Ting, who says they’re her “go-to everyday legging.” Katherine Gundling, a coach and programmer at ICE CrossFit NYC and Oculus CrossFit, adds that “they will last you years and stay in great condition,” too.

Lululemon’s Align pants are similarly quintessential and beloved. Fitness instructor Ashley Rosenberg calls the style a “forever classic” that’s “just unbeatable.” Expecting mothers, yoga instructors, and other fitness folk all agree, praising their high-rise fit, durability, and four-way stretch.

These dolphin-smooth yoga pants are unusually supportive and snug, and explicitly designed to stay in place while you’re on the mat. So while we can’t guarantee that you won’t need to adjust your pose, at least you won’t be tugging at any fabric while doing so.

Vanessa Chu, the co-founder of Stretch’d, knows a thing or two about leggings — “I probably have over 50 pairs” — and wears these for any running, cardio, or HIIT workouts. “I need sweat wicking for cardio and love if they have pockets in the back for stashing my credit card or a side pocket for holding my cell phone,” Chu says. “This way I can have all I need when I’m literally on the run.”

If you’re more a runner than yogi, these weightless pants provide studio comfort on the footpath. They’re designed with a back pocket for your phone, as well as a waist drawcord for an easy fit.

A highly-discounted pair of bike shorts with a subtle camouflage pattern, waistband pocket, and enough stretch for serious workouts (or coffee runs, in an oversized sweater).

On-sale in both blue and white, this skirt’s very-subtle shorts lining makes it perfect for running, whether on the track or just about town. We could definitely see ourselves playing tennis in it, too.

Made from smooth cotton terry, these joggers are slim-fitting, with just the tiniest amount of slouch.

We’ve been recommending Lululemon’s Swiftly Tech racerback for years, especially for running. The lightweight fabric is interwoven with naturally antimicrobial silver thread to prevent odor, and our former writer Karen Adelson called it “a workhorse that gets me through most of the summer.”

Behold, a cute T-shirt with secret powers: When we went searching for the best clothes to hide sweat, stylist Gaelle Paul told us that its technical fabric does a great job at reducing odor.

The capped sleeves on this tank aren’t just for looks: they’re actually cleverly designed to avoid backpack strap chafing while hiking.

With a cropped length that’s just begging to be paired with high-waisted jeans, this Barbie-pink tank could go way beyond your workout wardrobe, if you wanted it to.

Or here’s a breezier tank to throw over your yoga pants, in a subtler marbled hue.

One of our eight best sports bras for women, Lululemon’s Energy Bra has (removable) molded foam cups, which add shape and separation to eliminate any unwanted jiggle-jiggle as you move.

With a longer line of coverage than the Energy Bra above, this reversible style gives you two outfit options: camo, or monochrome.

Designed for high-impact activities and made with a breathable fabric, we love this bra for the way it reduces bounce.

Available in A to G cups, here’s a seriously smoothing bra with supportive cross-back straps. The sweat-wicking fabric makes it ideal for intense workouts, from cycling to boxing.

One of our best gym bags for women, this backpack has “Mary Poppins” capacity, according to Megan Norregaard, a trainer at Solace New York. While sleek in looks, the bag is cleverly designed to keep your gear organized with its water-bottle holder, laptop sleeve, expandable pocket for dirty clothes, and exterior phone pocket. The fabric is also water-repellent.

Add some ’80s to your workout with the scrunchie that our contributor Elizabeth DuBois uses to tie her hair back.

Or add some ’90s to your workout with this pleasingly minimalist bucket hat.

The ventilated fabric of this T-shirt came much-recommended by men’s yoga instructors we spoke with when researching the brand.

With just enough Lycra for stretch, and not enough that it looks overly technical for everyday wear, this is a classic tee. But we’re really just here for that dusty-pink colorway.

This structural hoodie is as futuristic as it looks: The warm fleece fabric interior is sweat-wicking and treated with “No-Stink Zinc,” to prevent bacterial growth.

One of our nine best gym shorts for men, this pair is a Strategist staff favorite, as well as a favorite among stylish men we’ve spoken with over the years. Ralph Lauren creative producer Yale Breslin calls them “the ultimate,” and particularly likes the subtlety of their branding, as well as their “not too long and not too short” length.

Chris Keyloun, a coach at New York City rowing studio Rowgatta, likes that the comfortable liner of these slightly longer shorts “allows you to move in all directions.” He’s also a fan of their well-placed pockets, which include a zipper pocket made to hold smartphones. “It will hold your phone securely in place whether you’re rowing a 6K or sprinting a 2K,” Keyloun says.

These unlined nine-inchers also make our best gym-shorts list. Matt Jared, co-founder of the yoga-and-meditation nonprofit United We Om, wears them when teaching classes because “the fit is loose and relaxed, but they stay in place and don’t pinch no matter what shape I find myself in.”

Or if you prefer, here are those exact same shorts, but with a built-in liner.

Strategist associate editor Louis Cheslaw says that Lululemon’s ABC pants are “transformative,” in that they wear like sweats (due to their “stretchy, proprietary Warpstreme fabric”) but look plenty formal enough for the office. He notes that also popular amongst Wall Street types.

These skinnier ABCs could just as easily pair with a button-down shirt, with no one the wiser.

The (even comfier) jogger version of Lululemon’s ABC pants is also cool-guy-approved. Donnell Baldwin, a former style director for Mr Porter, has owned his pair for years, promising that they’re worth the price because “they don’t fall apart.”
